My 18th Birthday Bash !

Woot! I am finally 18!!!!!!!! Breaking free from the adolescence teenage days and moving on to the realm of adults ! 18, the legal age to do virtually everything adults can do ( almost ),the very age where I can no longer be protected by the constitutional child's act [aww.. now if i murder ppl i really have to go to jail = ( ] Yeah, that 18 !! So,anyway I began this perfect day by waking up at 9 , unusually early for lazy people like me . ( i usually wake up at 12 + everyday since the beginning of holiday =D ) Anyway , I woke up to the call of my sister telling me to answer the phone as she said a friend of mine was looking for me.

Perplexed , I went on to answer the call ,still blur blur and confused as I just woke up from my deep slumber, wondering which friend of mine would call me as early as this and for what reason ? Unfortunately, it turns out to be a teacher, most certainly not a friend of mine asking me for help at school .So,there i was, on a supposedly perfect 18th birthday , I was requested to help out at school in the evening , effectively wasting this once-in-a-year special day.As I was still blur blur and confused, I foolishly said yes ,only to regret it . That was the first bad omen of the day.

****

Thankfully, things got a turn for better =D .For awhile, I keep questioning myself. Why the hell did I say yes =.- . It was stupid to spend my whole birthday in school .After much confusion, I finally decided to heed my inner call and abandoning my conscience. I called the teacher and said no, I can't make it coz of bla bla bla some silly reasons which are not entirely true but not entirely false either . After that ,almost instantaneously, things took a change for the better. I heard people calling my name ,and from the doorstep , I saw some familiar figures emerging from the shadows.

Woot! A surprise birthday celebration ! Thanks a lot guys . Really appreciate it =D Anyway after eating the cakes ,we decided to head down to Kek Lok Si temple ,which isn't really too far away from my house.

I am kinda lazy to talk about things in Kek Lok Si, so i will let the pictures do the talking instead =D Enjoy .

"Hiking up" Kek Lok Si .
The magnificent Goddess of Mercy ( Kuan Yin ) Statue and the newly built pavilion sheltering it.
Us with the cute doggie bench.
Me with the pig lol.
Three guys trying to pose but ended up failing miserably. Epic PHAIL! haha

****
After the whole Kek Lok Si trip , went back home and rested for a while before I head out for the apartment stay near Tanjung Bungah again . =D I was there attending and participating in a birthday surprise plan for my another friend whose birthday seems to fall coincidently on the same day as mine =D .

It was fun!! I must say though it was short , the quality of time we spent definitely would make up for the short time interval .There I gained some unique experiences that I would definitely not acquire had I insist on staying within my comfort zone and stay stuck in my house.

There, I experienced new thing . Roti Xmas.. Heard before? No ? For those that stayed over that night, u guys know what I mean haha. Wanting to try something new, I decided to stay away from the normal, common rotis there such as roti bom, roti cheese and etc etc. Upon gazing at the menu, I noted some peculiar name. Roti Xmas caught my attention was it was christmas eve at that particular time.

Wanting to feel the thrill and excitement of trying something new, I opted for it and opened the pandora's box. To my horror and astonishment , roti xmas was a typical western breadfast ,the normal sausage ,two eggs wrapped around with the crust of the bread and decorated like a christmas tree. And the price is even more astonishing.. rm 7 .Here's a pic of it
As, mentioned afore, inside there are sausages, eggs and breads. This cost me Rm 7, well nearly ,luckily the kind hearted waiter gave me promotion and lower it to Rm 5.50.Anyway,lesson learnt, never try some new things when u dunno how much it might cost u ! *

We walked past some pubs and bistros along the way and I happened to bump into an old friend who with a shocked expression shouted out to me . Weird, but cool ya =D .

Anyway I am super glad that I decided to go againts the odds and go out instead of stuck staying at home doing nothing during xmas eve. Christmas is here . May everyone have a mirthful christmas =D Here are again some pictures taken showing the presents I got from my marvelous friends and other pictures taken during the apartment stay =D. *Now none of u can complain my blog not enough pics :P *
Me and the birthday girl . To guys who are drooling at her beauty now, sorry guys she's taken .XD
Went to Penang Bowl at night. =D
Nice present box right? haha
3 necklaces from 3 diff ppl for me. Thanks wei !!! =D
And this super damn Kawaii cute monkey !! with the banana gosh Thanks alot . Love it! =D

Alright, that's all for now.Again, thank you very much guys and gals for making my day =D. And have a mirthful christmas. May everyone be blessed and may your wish be granted. 2009 is fading away slowly and 2010 is just around the corner, marching in , replacing the great year we had tis year slowly. Hopefully next year , it would be equally nice,if not ,better than this year for everyone.Next year, less game, more study. That's my resolution again but let's see how it will turn out . Last but not least, may everything be well, for you and for me =].

*Note, credit to facebook and their respective photographer for the pictures above. The photos above are taken from facebook of various people whose name I shall not mention here to protect their privacy but no copyright infringment intended. If you want me to credit u ,jst message me . I will do so instantly =X * Thanks !! haha

41st Interact District Conference ( IDC )

Last Thursday ( 10/12/2009 ) ,I have been very fortunate to be one of the lucky fews to be chosen to go for the 41st Interact District Conference in INTI University College, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan . What a wonderful trip it turned out to be and the best part about it is that this trip was wholly, fully sponsored by the rotary club of penang ( only for us penang interactors yeah !XD ) , all RM 230 of them ! WOOT, ain't that just freaking awesome ? =D

That being said, in return of those sponsorship, we are to report about that conference and participate in the conference actively as representatives from penang. But yeah, being teenagers, do u think we give a damn about it ?= X Anyway, I guess you guys who are bored and probably looking for something fun to read on would like to know more about the story there in Negeri Sembilan ,so here you go =D

Alright, without further ado, let the story begin !

Day 1
We departed from penang at around 8.30 am , and arrived at the college around 2 + pm . Bawh, so much for the expected 5 hours ride . Being Malaysians, we will never reach the destination on time.Punctuality was a rather absurb concept for us. Either way, we were supposed to reach there by 1 pm and have our lunch there , but as sadly, with a bit of delay here and there we managed to reach there at 2+ pm, thus effectively missing the lunch programme and was forced to attend the talk first.
Luckily, the organizers there were good enough to let us eat while the talk is going on, thus saving us from dying from hunger. =D Straight after the lunch / talk , we headed straight for the first exciting programme of the day, the Ice Breaking .

Basically, the ice breaking consists of 4 stations, each station offering different kind of games for us to play and well, socialise and interact with each other.

The 1st station offers a game where the participants have to stack up the chairs one by one and cross over each other without falling down to the other side . Those who did it the fastest win.
See? From one side to the other side, stack the chairs, stand on it and cross over.

2nd Station, we move on to the basketball court and there we have a game of stripping , literally . Yes, U heard me correctly , STRIP. Well the rules of the game is simple, take out everything you have with you and line in on the floor to make a line. team that make the longest and most lines win =D

See, Stripping = one extra cloth = longer line. Smart ppl =D

After that there are two more stations which I did not really participate in due to various unforseen circumstances (laziness ) =X . Thus , sorry I could not provide u guys with the details about it .

Next,we have dinner, supper, talks and more talks .Nothing exciting . Alright moving on.. day 2 =D

Day 2
The morning schedule was filled with nothing but talks, talks talks and more talks .Bawh so not fun at all. But the night was much more interesting. On day 2 ,we have formal dinner, which means everyone gets to dress up and showcase their beautiful dresses and gowns. But wait, there's more there is even a fashion show organized by the interactors from klang.Dang they rocks =D
Day 3
As usual, there will always be talks , but the main event of the day is Treasure hunt! We will be split up to several teams and we are to go do some tasks which involves walking around INTI college and do various tasks .. from taking pics of sport facilities to counting how many humps are there in the college.

Count the number of tennis balls in there.. Hah

My awesome Team Alpha =D .
One of the tasks of the treasure hunt is to take a group photograph with an inti bus. So.. there =D
Another task is to take pic of sport facility.. there the tennis court =D

As far as I remember, treasure hunt was the most exciting and interesting programme in the whole conference. On Day 4, we packed our things and started leaving with a heavy ,sad feeling but bringing back the fond, sweet memories that we won't forget.

Miscellaneous
Throughout the coonference , I have learned a lot of things , mostly regarding lessons on life. I have learnt in order to gain something new, one must risk losing something old too. Only when one is willing to take a step outside their comfort zone will they discover the endless possibilities of the new world.Of course this conference have taught me too, no matter how far we are separated , friendship transcends those borders =D .

Alright, I shall not bored you any longer.. enjoy the pictures below for your visual pleasure .
The three foreign students under the International Youth Exchange (IYE) program speaking about their experiences.

Me with the foreigners =D

Alright guys ,stay tune for more pictures =D

It's 3a.m now. =]

*Tick ,Tock, Tick , Tock * The sound of the clock ticking reminds me of the time . It is now 3 a.m in the morning, and I am still here, wide awake, staring at the bright light emitted by the second idot box, the label I put on my computer. Now, for heaven's sake why on earth am I still awake now,at this unearthly hour where most NORMAL people would already be in their beds , in a deep slumber having their wildest dreams ?

Apparently , now I am still wide awake, full of enthutiasm and all fired up to do anything crazy .Hah, the reason ? I owe it much to two things. The first being the "short" 4 hour nap I had earlier from 8 pm to 12 am. Well, I wouldn't call it short now .If there is any habit or "skill" I had picked up during this holiday , it have to be the ability to have power naps.

From the average 8 hours sleep that every common people should and would have ,I had learnt to shortened the span to around 4 hours or so. Nowadays, my lifestyle mainly revolve around me sleeping or doing other lifeless thing. If I haven't been sleeping ,I would be stuck here in front of this second idiot box playing some lifeless games or outside wasting money.

That being said, one could even say that sleeping is the only productive things I had done during my holiday.Well, sleeping IS PRODUCTIVE right? in the sense that it helps rejuvenate your cells and repair your cells and of course there are other biological things that would happen when one is asleep,I shall leave that to bio students to find it out as I am not really that keen on biological stuffs, which is why I am a physic student and not bio student now. ( not that I really like physic that much anyway, just that I would prefer it over biology.Well, now I am starting to regret I chose this =[ )

Either way, emphasising my sleeping hours, I have to say that it is a pretty crazy sleeping schedule I am having now. I sleep when I felt like it, and often wake up later than what I had intended. And with all the inconsistencies that followed , I don't even know when's the next time I would be awake or asleep. Heck, the fact that I am still here at 3 am and probably won't be sleeping till around 5 or 6 perfectly illustrates that.

Anyway, that was the first reason, now, the second reason that got me all fired up and full of enthusiasm is..... the novel I had just read a moment ago. Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress ".Superbly engrossing and mesmerising , with twists and turns you would never expect ,this is indeed a novel to be reckoned with . Truth to be told, I was never a fan of literary books. At first ,I was never even a fan of books. There was a time when I hated reading.Well, I still do now but at the very least I had taken a liking to reading articles I deem interesting.

I digressed.Again,as I have mentioned before, literary stuffs confuses me. I could never understand what joy could anyone derive from reading a bunch of texts and words.I would rather spend time sleeping than reading a novel. And yet now, I find myself turning pages after pages, hungry to quench my thirst for knowledge ,mystery and suspense.I find myself devouring pages after pages, and soon enough, without realising it, I am already halfway through the novel.

It awed and equally surprised me that someone like me actually read through all those pages. And now, it is a question no longer. The mystery is solved.Apart from games, movies and sleeping, I had found a new way of deriving happiness.Yes, novel. Nice novels.

Back to the novel,as I flipped through the pages, it was like a journey to a unknown world, and as I slowly read through the words , the bunch of texts and jargons transformed into live, realistic images, so real and tangible ,limited only by the boundaries of your imagination. I find it highly engrossing and eventhough I had read it halfway ,I can assure you, Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" ,like many of his other famous film adapted titles, Angels and Demons , and Da Vinci Code, is nothing short of amazing ! Thus, if any of you readers here that are bored and never tried reading novel before, try it. Guaranteed satisfaction ensured =] .

A little bit on my personal note, November has slipped away and now it is December taking over.Time passes so fast, and the changes that have been taking place lately seems so drastic that it scares me. Either way, change is not all that bad.November have been a month full of confusion and mysteries, with each mysteries provoking thoughts on incomprehensible matters. And in this very month too , that I struggled to keep on my roots of my belief, to stand strong despite the much dreaded rumours ,gossip and people's talk affecting me. And the memories of the past begins to haunt me again .History repeats itself again ,literally. and yes, I was thrown back into the deep abyss surrounded by sorrow, gloom and incomprehensible agony.

Neverthesless, the passage of time marched on relentlessly, and now the December month saw all of the bad vibes fading away and vanishes into thin air.December is the festive season , with Christmas just around the corner. My mind is finally cleared now as to what I am supposed to do and what I must do.No more confusion and unnecessary worries over nonsensical and absolutely ludicrous things. In retrospect, I ought to laugh at it now.It is the time to be happy , throwing away all the gloom and sadness, and ready to accept happiness, joy ,excitement and be optimistic and sanguine over the prospect of future.

I think I am ready now. Ready to embrace a happy world, Ready to let go of the past , and Ready to accept whatever the future have in store for me, and consequently be grateful that I have what I have now = ] . HAPPY HOLIDAY !! =D

Post-Exam Days ~

After the much dreaded final examination , finally comes the long awaited happy big break. Well, this long break is supposedly filled with much joy, happiness and fun but I have yet to see any of that as of now.

In fact , the starting of my holiday seems pretty dull and filled with nothing but the occasional outing to cybercafes ,which I think is pretty lifeless and pointless, plus wasting money. But oh well, I guess that's what guys do =] .

Either way , again , as the big break approaches , this marks the near end of 2009 ,paving way to the new 2010,a new beginning, signifying yet the end of another chapter of my life.

So,again it is that time of the year again, the time of reflection .
So,dear readers (if there are any ), be warned that the following post will be filled with nothing but countless boring and dull words , coupled with a lot of emoness and pessimism. ok, you have been warned =D

As a young lad born under the star of capricorn , i was always the one having the skeptical and pessimistic perspective towards the world. Being a capricornus , it is only natural for me to be devoid of optimism and filled instead with the emotional feelings and extra sensitivity towards others.

As I grow up , I realised, I wasn't the type that could organise my thoughts and stuffs perfectly.I wasn't the systematic, calculative ,and manipulative type that have everything under control. In fact, I was the more emotional wan, the one more concentrated on feelings and emotions.

I wonder , is it a blessing or curse?

Either way , now that the holiday is here, the usual resolutions should be up too by now.

In this holiday , I vow to learn chinese, learn guitar more efficiently, exercise to be fit and most importantly, to study or at least revise .

Still, talk is cheap , and especially on a guy whose innate nature concentrates more on feelings and less on facts , figures and organisation , I wonder how this would be accomplished ? Things are rather complicated now. I can only wish that the storm will be over soon and the bright, warm light from the sun shall penetrate through the clouds of darkness and dawn upon me once more.

Truth to be told, I am not really in the mood to blog now.Hardly anything comes into my mind now save the plethoras of thoughts ,mostly pointless and perplexing ones being there to confuse me further.

Perhaps next time when the next event unfold, shall I blog again . Until then, may everything be well, for you and me =D

Exam Time

Finally , exam ended after a miserable four days. Well, as much as I appreciate the short 4 days only examination in Form 6 , I am equally dissatisfied with the fact that after our exam, there are still 2 weeks before school holiday starts.

Damn... how I yearn for holidays and the days after exam and it turned out that we still need to study to finish the syllabus.!~ oh well.. not that any of my classmates are actually listening when the teacher talks.

Anyway, back to the main topic. Referring to the title above, I am quite sure that many of you all would assume that since stpm is the super-duper-freaking-tough-3rd hardest examination in the world, we ,the sixth formers must be having a hard time dealing and coping with the examination stress right?

Ladies and gentleman, I can't begin to describe how wrong you are. Sure, that is the way we are SUPPOSED to be feeling but unfortunately , not to my class . Well, not this year at least =X. Strictly speaking, this statement does not apply to all of my classmates as some of them are really hardworking nerds that pour their heart and souls into the book, only to get a meager pass ( as stated by our physic teacher ) .

As the exam approaches , we can see an obvious segregation of group in my class . In the blue corner.. the supposedly hardworking model students pia-ing for exam.. in the red corner , the super smart students that assume this year's examination is useless and bz chatting away about games and gals x) . [ which I do agree on ]

Well, which group do I belong too , you might ask ? The answer is an absolute neither . I am neutral ! Hah!

Either way, that is not the point. I digressed. So,when examination starts , I was quite enthutiastic to do well and score in exam, considering the fact that I did study for something..Still , time passes ,and come the third day, I lost all the spirit to study.Luckily, it all objectives in the last day =D .

Alright, now, one question, what do you think students will be doing after they finish their exam paper and still left 30 minutes or so before exam ends?

( A ) Double check and keep rechecking the paper to avoid careless mistakes.
( B ) Sleep and day dream.
( C ) Kacau other ppl
( D ) Write a love poem.

:P which one would u think I would do?

Well.. i was wu liao enough to do B, C and D but not A lol. After completing my muet exam, I realise I still gt 30 minutes left,as such in order to prevent time being wasted sleeping away, I came up with this productive solution.. So, wanna see the poem ?XDD here it is .. enjoy lol

Part 1
As if by a slip of fate,
You appeared before me,
Cladded in white,
With your angelic smile ,
Your flawless complexion,
Your sultry lips,
Your gleaming sapphire-blue eyes.

You were the angel,
Descending from the sky ,
You were my salvation,
The brightest star in my life,
The light within darkness in my heart,
The only hope I ever have ~

Part II
As if bounded by chains of fate,
Your mesmerising gaze,
Attracted me,
And sealed my heart eternally with yours .
With that, my life was completed
And I thanked Lord,
For sending such beautiful angel by my side,
Saving this soul from his eternal suffering.

Part III
But our days are numbered,
And fate is cruel,
Slowly but surely,
Memories began fading,
Snatched away by the merciless time.
Those precious memories we made together,
Those irreplaceable joy we had,
Those genuine feeling of love we shared.

Part IV
Though,fret not , my dear,
Eventhough time might pass,
And memories might fade,
But I promise you,
As long as these eyes can see,
And these consciousness remains,
Shall this love continue flowing,
Forever and ever ... =] .

K.. end d.. Talk about things u can do in exam !~ lol . I jst wrote for fun, no particular intentions or directed towards anyone k ? XD. Constructive critisms are welcomed =DD

PFS Installation Day

When I was first being informed that I have been tasked with the responsibility to lead and guide the club for the next 1 and a half year, I was dumb-founded. I mean, what are the odds that a first-year member of a club gets to ascend to the highest post available by simply just joining the club? And yet it happened , a month or so after joining interact club , I got the post of the president =P . It all happened too fast that I was still in the state of shock and find it hard to believe after all this. Back then, my biggest concern was the installation day.

For those uninformed, interact club have this thing called installation day and as the name implies, on that day , the installation of the incoming committees would commence and be conducted by the outgoing committees. Basically the whole thing is we have games and activities and installation was just the "formal" name we go by to have fun in the school. However, the entire event was to be conducted and organized by ... me, or rather i mean US , the incoming committees .That was my biggest fear back then for I knew almost nothing regarding the club.

In a blink of an eye, the installation day finally arrived (26/09/2009) and to my surprise once more, it actually went on pretty smoothly.Well then, here is our story ~ I shall let the picture do the talking next. Enjoy ~ =)

There, first I have to say , thank you to the two brilliant emcees, benjamin and moey ~ thanks guys You guys did great ! =)
A closer look at the two emcees.

Part of the crowd.
Our first game was called the proposal game. Basically you have to run and pass the baton on to some random person until the music stops... then...

Then, you will have to propose to them =D . Of course, using some awkward materials we prepared beforehand.Like in this case, the guy used the cardboard as a bouquet of flowers.Cool Imagination huh ? Haha

Well... who says that people of the same genders can't propose each other?Look, we have gay couples too XD
" Marry me please, I am begging you "

Then, we had a little dancing performance from our own pfs members. Cool mask they have there right?

Next up was lunch .I bet no one will come to our installation if there was no food. Hah !
Then, we continued with another performance from yet another one of .... yup you guessed it OUR member ! Cool right, and it's a freaking band ! Damn, I am so proud of you guys.Who would have guessed that even pfs have their own rock bands apart from the nerdy band geeks in the school. They performed the song "21 Guns " from Green Day.

The drummer with his yamaha drum set .
The lead guitarist + vocalist ,who also doubles up as the emcee, Benjamin Sagerayne Han.Cool guy with a cool name. Cool !
Complete 3-piece band consisting of two guitarist and and a drummer. You guys rock !

This is supposed to be a free-dance session bu apparently the guys are too shy to dance eventhough they went out lol.
Even the gals are more sporting than the guys ...
Until this guy shows up and show them how cool can hip-hop be =D.Then, comes the next game. Balloon throwing game.
Participants getting ready for the big game.
One participant is supposed to be blindfolded while the others lead him/her along the designated path while we places / throw the water filled balloons to them but....As the saying goes "rules are meant to be broken " ,and considering we are dealing with mainly pfs guys and some other rowdy and wild teenagers here,it quickly went from a proper game, to a wild balloon throwing party ! Haha as expected.
Most of us ended up wet at the end of the day but seems like some of them enjoyed being wet . Just look at his smiling face =D .
Look at the mess we have to clean up afterwards. But it's worth it = )
Finally,it ends with some gifts and trophies presentation to the other school for their willingness to attend our installation day. (every school that have interact club has to have their installation day )

The hall after the end of installation.

A group photo of us interactors biggrin

At the end of the day , everyone was tired but we did have some fun , wait .. ok maybe a lot of fun =D .It was particularly fun that we get to ring the school bell and mess with the school PA System and hall and virtually everything in the school with no teachers or whoever discipline officers whatsoever telling us what to do . It was a day completely filled with us, rowdy hot-blooded teenagers commanding the stage =D .

I have to say, it was indeed a very fun and memorable experience.Although it wasn't the best party but it wasn't that bad either. At least, now I can proudly say that I had organized an event of this level and this experience will definitely prove beneficial in future events.razz

Alright, that's all for now. Tune in for more photos and events (if there are any ). Next up, MUET speaking ! ahh... the horror.
