Yeah, today is our school's career day.Nothing much at first although my mood is ruined by the crappy est presentation.Either way, it went on and finally we get to go into the hall.Yeah, several big colleges like kdu ,taylors ,disted and etc were invited to answer one of our biggest question. "what to do after spm?" Well, i must say they certainly did a good job explaining and confusing my mind.(Partly due to my inability to ask clearly too... )
Apparently, after spm, there are several paths that i can take.First one being form 6,which is the natural government educational system path. Form 6 => Local Universities => Work. The second ,which is also another government supported educational system will be the Matriculation.Well, basically this is what that has been known as the "shortest route to local universities".True enough i guess, considering you only need to study 18 months, compared to Form 6's 2 and a half month.
Now,for the 3rd option, one can go for private colleges like kdu, inti, taylor, disted and etc.Alright, i guess these are all the pathways that can be taken after spm?At least these are what i knew. Now,for the pros and cons for all the options stated.I personally prefer going to college because , first, it is the best as it offers an internationally recorgnized certificate such as A-level.Not only that , it does offer a variety of programmes such as foundations, degree and etc that could definitely will be recorgnized internationally. This meaning that those that went to college will be able to go overseas to pursue their interest which is definitely a plus sign.
The drawback of going college is... again money.Yeah, again it revolves around the money factor.I don't mind forking out RM 10 k+ for A-lvl but what else? What are my choices after completing A-level?Private local universities are available but still ... that means working locally again?I can go overseas after that too. However, all this means that i have to fork out more money! According to my friend, going to US would be around RM 50 k per year.PER YEAR omg... not to mention the living expenses there is quite high. One good thing though, if i were to be able to settle down in overseas, then i would be guaranteed to have quite a nice life.
Form 6 is definitely a NO NO or only will be considered as the last attempt. Why so?First, upon joining form 6,it will means i will waste 2 and a half month there compared to college life which will only be around 12 months or 18 months. That means that my friends that enter college will be able to get out and earn a degree or even work earlier than me.And that working experience Does Matter.
As for matriculation.. it might be the best and might be the worse of all too. Why?First of all,as i have mentioned earlier, it is the instant shortcut to local university,That is good if you plan on entering local university already. As for bonus, you will even be given Rm 2.5 k for allowance per month. The downside is.. that if you are non-bumiputra, then your chances of entering it will be less.If you are non-bumiputra and you entered it, you will be among one of the minority group there. That, i don't quite like it.Besides, the syllabus there would be rather easier than form 6 and A-level.That meaning that once you entered local universities, you would have trouble coping with the studies there unless you did your own study. It is like the transition from form 3 to form 4.A completely new level.
Ah man.... my mind is gonna blow. I can't make any decisions now.Not when i think about the costs and fees.Oh yeah one more thing, today ,again i showed my inability to express myself clearly by asking some dumb questions to the consultants.Ah man... How i wish i could think before i talk.Next time, i won't talk at all ! Silence is golden !

Errm..seems many of us got the same opinion,- study in form 6 will waste a longer time compare to other options.
But,when the time you can't decide anything, then it's most probably you will study in form6.LOL!
Or maybe,4th option.
Get an excellent result in spm!
Then apply for JPA scholarship and study overseas!
Though, money is still a must!
Haiz..actually I have started to worry about my future.
